Hi I am stuck in Oracle forms 11g installation problem. I am an expert Oracle Form developer in 6i and 10g. Now a days I am having database connection problem in Forms 6i, in Forms 10g it does not deploy in all machine/web browser. I have tried to deploy forms 10g with jre. It works perfect in my Laptop. but when I try the same procedure in Other machine it does not work any way. No clue what is the problem some frm-92095 is the error. Then I have heard form one of my friend that forms 11g works fine for all machine and web browser. But it is almost proved to be impossible for me to install it. I have gone through all oracle documentation to install it. But I can't instal it myself. If there is any straight forward simple steps to install Forms 11g please have a post here.

Thanks

Is this the install documentation you say you are following -
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24269_01/doc.11120/e23960/toc.htm
I wouldn't think there is anything else. What's the problem?

Dear Mr. John watson, Thanks for the suggestion. Actually I have gone through all the documents you suggested. There are too many issues and confusion arises while trying to install Forms 11g. 1. Repository Creation Utility(RCU). 2. Installation of Web Logic Server which is installed but never starts. Whenever I try to start it gives lots of java.lang...etc errors. 3. Installation of Forms requires web logic server which never starts eventually forms never instals. Stuck in the problem.

Hasan, you mus be more precise in your description of the problems. The first step is create a database, and run the RCU. I ran it last week, it seemed pretty straight forward. What went wrong for you?

Dear Mr. John

I have run RCU as well it was straight forward and easy. Then I have run Web Logic Server Installation. It seems ok when it installed but it never started. I could not open the http://<Server>:7001/console or any other url suggested during installation process. But as with Forms installation, it requires web logic server. To deploy/run a form it requires wls to start which never started. What can I do?

Regars

This is my last try. You have to give more information. This:Quote:

tells us nothing. What install method did you use? How did you try to start it: as a Window service, or using the Node Manager, or with the startManagedWebLogic.cmd script?
And by the way, what Java are you using? Is it, for example, JDK 1.7 update 5 64bit? Or some version of Jrockit?

Think what you would say if one of your end users telephoned you and said "I tried to use your application and it didn't work".

As Mr. John watson suggested follow below Installation Roadmap.

Hi Irfan

In installation process web logic server and oracle forms 11g installs fine. where Quote:
Oracle Middleware Home : D:\OELS64\Middleware
Oracle Home Directory : Oracle_FRHome1

While trying to install Patch above mentioned locations are selected by default but then following error persists
Quote:
Error
INST-07531: Error in validating contents of Oracle home
Cause: The Oracle home provided does not contain {0}.
Action: In order to patch your existing version please provide an Oracle home that contains the product mentioned above. If you choose to continue, only the oracle_common directory and any components that both products have in common will be patched.

Now I have skipped this patch installation process and started configuration process form D:\OELS64\Middleware\Oracle_FRHome1\bin\config.bat

Configuration tasks fails like domain creation fails, ASInstance Creation fails, opmn starting fails etc...

This is where I am stuck right now.

A great resource is found here at my blog
http://oracleformsinfo.wordpress.com/2012/03/07/tips-and-tricks-the-dummies-guide-to-installing-oracle-forms-11g-r2-on-64-bit/
Including why the installation could get stuck.

It could be your PATH variable has blank spaces or ( )
Checkout the note above and good luck.

This is not much of a help, but I seem to remember that jre 1.7.X was not yet certified with forms. Can you try 1.6.X?

As you can see in this blog article Java 1.7 is not supported with Forms 11g

http://oracleformsinfo.wordpress.com/2012/06/17/frm-92095-oracle-jinitiator-version-too-low-disable-jre-1-7-auto-update-for-all-e-bus iness-suite-and-oracle-forms-end-users/

See the solution in blog post above

To be honest I have run Forms 10g with jre 1.7.x. So it should also work for forms 11 as well. Rather than 1.6x. On the other hand if 1.6x works for forms 11g the 1.7x should also work for forms 11g. Backward/forward compatibility issues are handled for each new version.

I don't know why you should assume this to be the case. New versions of programs come out all the time and need to be tested for compatibility.

Do not wory

You can use Java7 in Windows or Mac

In Control Panel of Java

click Java
click view
in version7 Parameters write:

-Djava.vendor="Sun Microsystems Inc."

It works !

Ollivier, thanks. I have not been able to get 1.7 to work with my app server 10.1.2.0.2. I have been sticking with 1.6.0.31
I put that parameter in and now it works with 1.7.
