hello experts,
when i try to execute a 'select statement' or try to create view with this 'select statement' then my toad connection get break and it
shows an error 'Background session could not connect to Oracle' .
please tell me what is the problem?
i am using oracle version 11.2.0.1.0 and toad version is 9.0.1
your help will highly be appreciated.

Are you sure you use TOAD 9.0.1 (and not 9.1.0)?

According to this Quest software document, it might be that TOAD version is too low to connect to Oracle 11g, which means that you should upgrade TOAD (to 10.5) (or downgrade Oracle).
