Hi everybody, i have increased my sga_max_size from 585 to 984 and sga_target_size to 784 and i have shutdown the database
Now when i am starting the database with --- startup mount' it is giving the following error how i need to resolve that?? its urgent ..please do reply with detailed explanation..

this is the last data recorded in alertlog file
is this sufficient or else shall i paste it from the start of the alter system set sga_max_size ?? ....

But what for i look into that trace file..i watched it and there also it is giving the same message access violation.
ksedmp:internal or fata error
and saying repeating 2 times 1 time and so on....?? Confused

Either decrease the SGA parameters ti check or raise a SR to Oracle.

how should i decrease the size of the sga...as the database is not mounting ....please give me a solution ..i am tensed!! Confused

You change it in the parameter, if you use init.ora, or using ALTER SYSTEM ... SCOPE=SPFILE if you use a spfile.

even though i changedin init.orafile unable to startup the oracle.
in the init.ora file i have foun only the sga_target parameter and i reduced it... but still i am unable to do it.!! ????

Yeah i made it( i made the change) now its working i am able to connect to the database ...ufff!! thank you very much @ cookie monster and @ Michel Cadot
i have made that change because when i opened the OEM and logged in as sys it asked me to change the sga size to 784 so ..and the error occurred..?? so what should i do now??.. shall i change it to exactly 784M??

Check your OS usage. like memory usage, Based on this you need to configure your sga setting.
