Hi,

After our client upgraded to 11g database and application server, they are getting this error while trying to access another form from the option menu (The option menu is generated with the help of a library, the values are taken from a database table). This issue occurs only in one particular scenerio, and only in on form, other forms with similar functionality and same structure are working perfectly fine. The error is written below.

FRM-21011: PL/SQL unhandled exception ORA-06508

I tried in my environment (10G), no error exist there.
In 11G environment, I tried re-attaching a library in the form and compiling again, the error does not come after recompiliation. But the client can still see the error even after recompiling the form (after reattaching that particular library).

I could find the below info on google:

FRM-21011: PL/SQL unhandled exception %s.
Cause: An unhandled exception occurred while executing a menu trigger.
Action: Examine the text of the exception in this message. If this indicates a cause,
correct it. If the problem persists, contact Oracle Support Services.
Level: 25
Trigger: None

I am using form builder 10G, will compiling the form using Form builder 11G help??
It's urgent issue, any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Tarun

It seems that FRM-21011 is just the consequence. Root might be ORA-06508:Oracle

ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called

Cause: An attempt was made to call a stored program that could not be found. The program may have been dropped or incompatibly modified, or have compiled with errors.

Action: Check that all referenced programs, including their package bodies, exist and are compatible.

Does this help?

Thanks for the reply.. But the same library is used in multiple forms, and is working perfectly fine.

The objects are compiled successfully and no uncompiled package or object is existing.

Also I checked, All the objects are in valid state in database.

Even this form works perfectly fine in all scenarios except one.

I can access the 2nd form from this form al other time but one exceptional case is when, i open another form before this form from option menu.

To help u understand better..

FPAPURR is one form which gives error when i try to access another form (FOAPOXT) from option menu while FPAPURR is currently open.
It gives error only when, I access another form FOAUAPP from option menu, before I open FPAPURR.

please suggest what could be the issue.

Huh, if possible, run the form in debug mode (using scenario that leads to a failure). Maybe you'll discover what is causing the problem.

Can't run it in debug mode. That's of no use. Reason being, I am using 10 G builder and problem exists in 11g exvironment. and Other reason is the problem comes when i call some from option menu in application. So running the form from debug won't even reproduce the error.

Any other suggestions please??
