Hi,

I have a requirement to copy a schema from one db to another. The source db has data pump installed but the target db does not have a data pump. I tried to take a normal export of the source database but it is much time consuming. Is there any other easier way to have the data copy done ?

Thanks,
rs.

Probably not. What version of oracle are the DB's?

If both are 10g then data pump exists in target one unless someone deleted it.

I tried to do an IMPDP but then the command prompt just exited without giving any errors. This happened 2-3 times. Then i checked with the DBA and was told that data pump instalation ran into some errors and so it was not done.

I tried an expdp from the target database - the expdp hung. So I gave a ctrl +c and this is the error message that I got :

UDE-00008: operation generated ORACLE error 31623
