Hi,
I have oracle 10g running on Unix, I have to take a cold backup and copy the backedup files into another server and use RMAN to restore the backup in the new server. The question I have is the uid of oracle user on these two servers are different, will it cause any problem? do I have to have the same uid for oracle user on both the server?

Possibly.
