Dear All,

I am exporting schemas. Whenever I export a schema, the logical backup (dmp file) is created with errors. The following Error is thrown. I need to know what step should I have to take to correct it. Can any one help me in this regard? I Thank well in advance.

EXP-00008: ORACLE error 4063 encountered
ORA-04063: package body "SYS.DBMS_REPCAT_UTL" has errors
ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called: "SYS.DBMS_REPCAT_UTL"
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_REPCAT_EXP", line 87
ORA-06512: at line 1
EXP-00083: The previous problem occurred when calling SYS.DBMS_REPCAT_EXP.schema_info_exp
. exporting statistics
Export terminated successfully with warnings.

Thanks & Regards,
Artiste

Hi All,

I want a clarification...

If I re-run Catalog.Sql, CatProc.SQL & PubBld.Sql, will it solve the problem?

Also I want to know that whether it is allowed (is it safe) to re-run the above 3 packages for the second time (after the database is created successfully)?

Thanks & Regards,

Artiste.

Try to do it with catrep.sql.
You could also try to execute utlrp.sql and post the result.
Both as SYSDBA.

Hi Michel,

Thanks for your response.

I tried executing Catrep.sql as Sysdba and tried exporting the schema, still the same error came.

Then I tried executing utlrp.sql as Sysdba and tried exporting the schema, still the same error came.

I am posting the log file here as requested.

Thanks a lot.

Artiste

I can't download files, please put it inside the post (without forgetting to format it, see How to use [code] tags and make your code easier to read.

Also post:
col object_name format a30
select owner, object_name, object_type, status
from dba_objects where status != 'VALID'
order by 1, 2, 3
/

Regards
Michel

As far as I know the 7 last ones should be in WMSYS schema not SYS one.
Try to find in DBA_ERRORS if there is any useful information about these invalid package to know why they are invalid.

Michel

It seems that the errors come from the wrong schema for the object I mentioned in my previous post.

It is a bit risky.
What kind of database is this? (production, test, training...)
Have you important data in there? Have you any client data?

Regards
Michel

Hi Michel,

Thanks for the response. It is production database and clients' data is there.

If you can guide me, then we can plan for a downtime on this sunday and do the necessary steps to rectify it.

Thanks & Regds,

What is the size of the database (sum of customer tablespaces)?

Michel

I advise you to export the customer schemas, using DataPump, drop the databasae, recreate it and import the customer schema.
If the first export returns errors then exclude them from the export and retry, and so on till it works.
This is the safe way.

The other one, not safe, is to execute, as SYS, %ORACLE_HOME%\rdbms\admin\owminst.plb.
If there are too much errors, retry executing first owmremov.sql, then owminst.plb.
After that, drop the object in SYS schema that are also in WMSYS and execute utlrp.sql.
I repeat this is not a safe way.

Both must be done without any other connection that yours
=> shutdown immediate, startup restrict.

Regards
Michel

Dear Michel,

Sorry for giving you a late response. I will do the same as you have guided. I will take a Shutdown and then try it and then I will update you. Thanks a lot for your excellent guidance.
