Dear All,

I'm facing this error:
FRM-91120: Internal Error: Unable to load NLS character set

when I try to run command runform50.

I'm going crazy for days with this Smile

I've set my NLS_LANG to American_America.WE8ISO8859P1 (which the the same as my DB),

I've set the ORA_NLS33, ORA_NLS32 and ORA_NLS vars to /usr/oracle/OraHOme1/ocommon/nls/admin/data

I've set the NLSPATH to /usr/lib/nls/msg/%L/%N

If I run runform50 command without any options, it shows me the help, so I think it is correctly installed..

I guess the same thing as you're probably thinking .. that I'm missing some charset ... but where ? they should be in ocommon/nls dir ? if so, I've already installed pretty much everything of the developer2000 cd Wink

It could be that I've copied the .fmx and .fmb files from other machine ? (even though the other machine contains exactly the same OS and DB versions installed) ?
I'm not sure it could be so, but I cannot say it is not.

Anyway, if I try to be polite and generate forms again running f50desm, I have other error:
FRM-91111: Internal Error: window system startup failure
FRM-10039: Unable to start up the Form Builder

I really don't understand those errors, as they are not verbose enough for my limited QI Sad

Any ideas ?

Do you have different Oracle software products installed on your computer? If so, did you install them into separate Oracle Homes (i.e. different directories)? If not, you should have.

No, I have two separate machines with the same versions (in SO, or DB).

Oracle versions you use are rather old (I never used them); also, I'm unfamiliar with your operating system.

However, Oracle Technology Network Forum contains quite a few discussions about two FRM-xxxxx errors you got. Take a look, maybe you'll find the answer. Also, did you check My Oracle Support?

I think they really are related with the fact that .fmb and .fmx files were not "compiled" in the same machine.

I've already fixed some other errors when running f50gen, but now I got some unable to load color palette or something like that.

I know these are old environments ... the production one has 20 years old Wink

I'll suggest plan B which is upgrading for oracle 11, or changing to Linux Smile

I was really Shocked

when I was told that C Compiler for AIX is licensed (I mean, does not come with OS....). I will start recommending Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD, or any other I can remember ... Smile

FMX is not portable (that's for sure), but FMB is so - you should take an FMB from the source machine, copy it to the target one and - compile.
