oracle 12.1.1 apps
When Navigate to Help --> diagnostics --> Properties --> Item and choose Object as SYSTEM Variable, the Current Date time property value does not match with Local time.

We have an issue where when i use $$DATE$$ as an assignment initial/default value, the value on the form changes to next day (05/17) immediately after 8 PM EST (05/16). After my analysis, i have observed that SYSTEM.Current_datetime system variables also happens to have a same issue. The date gets changed to next day at 8 PM EST every day. The date should only be changed at 12:00 AM.

I don't know Oracle Apps., but - could it be because your database server is located elsewhere (so time zone is different from yours)?
