Hi All,

please clear my below doubts.

1) I made a composite index.
2) without collecting statistics, i had run AUTOTRACE.
It shown me FULL TABLE SCAN.

3) Then I had collected the stats and ran Autotrace,
Still it shows FULL TABLE SCAN only.

4) But when I dropped and recreate the index, then it shows me RANGE SCAN.

Why, we need to drop and recreate the index?

Muktha

Because statistics on the index are gathered.
