Hi,

We have faced database(10.2.0) issue cause incomplete recovery and have performed open resetlogs. This DB is of 12Tb. In 10g opening database with reset logs do not invalidate previous backups. we have another replica(no reset state)of this database which we sync using archives.
Please help me how we can apply those archives(reset database)to previous database?

Thanks,
Yasir Aftab

If you have database flashback enabled, you can flashback to before the reset logs, and then apply the archives from the other database. If you do not have flashback enabled, I do not think it is possible.

Which one is "previous database"?
It should be better if you name the databases and instances.

If you want to apply your new logs to your standby database (which I assume to be what you call "another replica"), you can't.

Michel Let me clarify.

1) DB Name: trdb(site A)
We have performed incomplete recovery and open this database using resetlogs.
2) We restored trdb old backup to another Site B.

3) Now we want archives of trdb (after resetlogs Site A) to apply on trdb(Site B).

How should i sync Site B database using site A archives which are generated after resetlogs. Hope i have clarify .

Thanks
Yasir

Which kind of backup? RMAN or else?
Copy and paste what you do and have, it is hard to help you without knowing what you actually did.
Do you satify the prerequisites of the link you gave?

Michel

cold backup(before resetlog). Now want to applu archives of after resetlogs database on that cold backup.
If you can make me understand above document,
1) we have to create backup controlfile of reset database and replace it with controlfiles of coldbackup.
2) register newly created archives of resetlog database with previous cold backup and then recover?
