Dear all!

I've configure TAF and Load Banalcing, both of server side some days ago. And now, I find Node 2 is accessed more than node 1.

I upload some images here, anything you need to clarify information more, I can give.

Node 2 is often at 40%-55%, some time to 77%.

Node 1 is often 5-12%

Service TAF was configured

The remote listener

Were I wrong?

May you show me about my mistake?

What makes you think something is wrong? Server side load balancing won't give you a perfect 50/50 split on your connections. It will (if configured properly - and since I can't see where you give any of your configuration information details so I don't know . . . ) do it's best to hand off connections to another node in the cluster if the one the connection request comes to tells the listener that it's too busy. You don't mention what version or platform - and there are some issues with server side load balancing in older versions of Oracle. What were your expectations?

First time, thank you for your reply.

Something make me beleive that I were wrong is percentage of resource in 2 nodes. This is production, so that, I could not show to you anything about our program. But I can post to you detail of your requirement. SS did not split 50/50, I knew that, however, why did just only Node 2 improve 47% always? So, I think something I've configured was wrong.

Anything about configuration if you want, I can post here, please tell me what do you need?
The platform and OS was written within Title (Oracle 10g - 10.2.0.1 & Sun Solaris 10 in Sparc).

Thank you!

Why are you running 10.2.0.1? You should at least be to 10.2.0.4 by now . . . . . you should open up a SR with Oracle, but if memory serves, there were changes to the way server side load balancing was done in subsequent point releases of 10gr2. Also - are you using services or are you using the SID of the respective databases to connect to? I would read this http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/rac.102/b28759/configwlm.htm and see if it yields any clues. But I would DEFINITELY upgrade to 10.2.0.4 with the latest patch set on top. Good luck!

Thank you for your reply!

I've already upgrdate to 10.2.0.4 yesterday. So, it's just like before upgrdating. No change.

SR = ? Sorry, I did not understand about the word.
SID is not to be used in my DB, I connected through service_name, one-by-instance separately.

SR would be a "Service Request" (you are asking them to provide support). Previously (when My Oracle Support was called Metalink, it was TAR - Technical Assistance Request).

Thank you sir, Littlefoot.
So, I've an account in Metalink as production's owner account - sorry, I do not tell how it's that. However, I've not posted or submitted anything to suggest help in Metalink. The only thing I joined to is read article. I think, your expreiencies is important than ever.

Steps should be self-explanatory; did you try to open a SR? Any problems?

Thank you, but I've never opened a SR before.

You just have to click on "Service Requests" tab, then on "Create SR" button and fill the forms.

Michel
