Sir, I already copied and "synch' all the control files from their respective path. But after I restarted the db again,
it give me this error: "ORA-00600: internal error code..."

ORA-00600/ORA-07445/ORA-03113 = Oracle bug => search on Metalink and/or call Oracle support

Sirs,

We restored our problematic production database this morning from backups after encountering the ORA-00600 error yesterday. Currently, we are encountering the ORA-00205 errors. Upon checking the alertlog, there are accompanying errors of ORA-00202, 27037 & 27047. We still cannot open the database after we overwrite good/existing controlfiles with those corrupted (we checked using DBVERIFY).

One thing I noticed was that one of the controlfile had a different name compared to the two. The prime controlfile located at this path /origlogA has a filename of "cntlrPRD.dbf",
while the rest have a filename of "cntrlPRD.dbf" which was located at /origlogB and /sapdata1 directories respectively.
I'm wondering now if this causes the error, because of inconsistency of the filename?

Our last option is to recreate the controlfile. My question is that, can I try to issue a command 'ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE' in one of our dev server? Is there any risks involved if I try it while the said database is open? I just want to see how the generated/backup file looks like.

Thank you very much.

Hi - I'm not going to offer advice on fixing your problem, it would not be sensible to interfere without a full understanding of what happened and the current situation. But to answer your precise questions:
First, controlfile copies can be named anything at all. The inconsistency is of no significance.
Second, you can backup the controlfile to trace at any time.

Sir,

Btw, based on the ".trc" file created by using the 'alter database backup controlfile to trace', can I exclude those pertaining to datafiles (when I execute it as an SQL script)?
I just want to execute only on re-creating the redo logs and adding the character set.

Thanks again.
