hi,

i am not sure if i can ask this in this forum. we work on oracle 8i / forms and reports 6i on a unix 7.1 server. we have 2 server and i have created user shutdown .

In .profile of shutdown user , i have added the following commands

cd /

sbin/shutdown -y -go -co

No change has been done in sbin/shutdown script

at the end of the day i shutdown

login : shutdown and keying the password and is working fine in one of the server, in the other server it gives the error as below

"error unix : must be a privileged user"

could anyone please let me know what would be the problem. I have all the rights required and i am a priviliged user

thanks in advance

nana
