I will be thankful if someone help me develop a Oracle stored function or procedure to confirm a availability of datafile on a specific local directory to be read by Oracle External table. The fine looks like filenameddmmyyyy.csv.

I have create a Oracle directory named data_dir that is mapped with physical directory c:\tmep

Once it is confirmed that datafile is available the ETL process is started.

Thanks.

You can lead some folk to knowledge, but you can't make them think.

Hi friends,

I am sorry say, perhaps, I could not ask properly. I just need your advice that before a datafile is read by an ETL process, how can we make sure that the datafile is present on the specified location on the server.

Thanks.
