10/26/1951 coming as 10/26/2051 in oracle 10g
column inserted in table as 10/26/1951 but in application coming as 10/26/2051.what would be the problem?

I think, this is because of RR format of date.
If you will use YYYY as date format, then Oracle will display 1951.
Just try it and revert back whatever you get as result.

You are not properly using TO_CHAR() or TO_DATE() functions
