How to identify the columns which are different between two oracle tables. pls note, I have nearly 30 columns in each table
comprising of million rows

What you want to compare. Columns of the table(number of columns or name of the column) or data inside the columns.

This is smooth when you have very limited no. of columns
I am talking about 30 column tables with millions of rows

column names whose data content is different from a corresponding row in the other table. Note 1 table is in 9i the other a copy of it in 11g

You want compare of what?
1)column names
2)column data
3)column data what ?

Its the names,data of the columns of both the tables having different data for the same rows in two tables. I hope its clear now.

No its not clear to me....

Its the names,

Two table may have two different columns and different data.

Compare on what basis...?
1)Compare Data in Two tables (which have same column names).it is possible use the hints provided.
2)Compare Data in two tables (which may have different column names)? Compare of what?On what basis?
