Exactly what is supposed to be done with the macros?

Excel can create an OBDC connection directly into Oracle.
The details can be found elsewhere (not this Oracle forum) since Oracle treats all client connections the same way.

It would be helpful if you followed Posting Guidelines - http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/88153/0/

i have to create macros which will enable me to update and/or insert data in the oracle data base.Importing the data from the database is easy but am finding it difficult to export the data to the database. The master data is in excel files and i have to create buttons which will be assigned to these update or insert macros. Thus,by clicking the button,my data cann be directly exported to the database.
I am new to this forum and am finding it difficult to find the appropiate forum to post my queries into.I would be very obliged if anyone can help me out with my issue.

kushal

Hi,
I am not able to understand your requirement clearly.
But external tables might help you for this requirement that can directly pick the data from excel/csv files and import into the Oracle tables.
