Hi there, I am new to this forum as well as Oracle.

I was currently running oracle 10g XE with APEX on a xp virtual pc machine. Unfortunately the virtual pc crashed and keeps cycling upon boot. I have tried troubleshooting but all attempts were futile.

However I am able to browse the directory of the virtual hdd via the winimage application. I have created a new xp virtual machine and want to know what file or folders do i have to copy to be able to get back my full database and application. Unfortunately i did not make recent backups.

Please any advice on moving foward would be greatly appreciated.

Install XE again (same version) in the same directory as you did before.
Shut down the database.
Then copy the following directories:
app\oracle\admin\XE
app\oracle\flash_recovery_area
oradata

This should do it. (I do it all the time locally)
