Hi Experts,

I have some doubt about BLOB,BLOB accepts Binary data

So that i inserted 1's and 0's but it's showing error
like this

CREATE TABLE t1(a BLOB);
INSERT INTO t1 VALUES(1010);

ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected BLOB got NUMBER

Bt if i insert like this the value is insertting
INSERT INTO t1 VALUES('1010');
But i perform SELECT * FROM t1;
It's showing unsupported data type.

which data we can insert into BLOB
Please give me exmple.
Thanks in advance

It would be helpful if you followed Posting Guidelines - http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/88153/0/

>INSERT INTO t1 VALUES(1010);
Between the open "(" & close ")" parenthesis is a NUMBER; not a BLOB.

>INSERT INTO t1 VALUES('1010');
Between the open "(" & close ")" parenthesis is a charater STRING; not a BLOB.

Please "review" the following:

What do you want to insert into your BLOB?
The binary value of number 1010 or the binary value of string '1010'?

Quote:

Binary values.
