I am new to Oracle import/export side and have 5 data dump files provided by the client. I would need to import them into oracle 11g database. The files are located in an external hard drive. 1. How do I specify the file locations and the multiple files?
2. Can the database files also be moved to the external hard drive? I am short on space on the machine I am working from.

Thanks!

yourDrive:\fileName.dmp

2). You do not want to do that.

Thanks Mahesh. Would the accessing speed be a problem if I move the data files to an external harddrive? I have only 80 GB left in the machine Im working and the dump files are 125 GB. I would assume that the database size after import would be atleast 125 GB. I have an external 1 TB harddrive. I was thinking of moving the datafiles over to that so that I'll have sufficient space to work.

Then what is going to happen to those files?
If this database is of any business importance, I would not do it.
External drives are not meant to be database storage.
Do it at your own risk.
