Thanks - it was v_$ and not v$ (which I queried).

How come v_$instance is displayed in dba_tab_privs when it's a view?

Also, how do you display users with select permissions on a regular view?

Thanks

The table_name column in the various _tab_privs views is one of the worst misnamed columns in the data dicitonary. It actually includes all ojbect_types, so procedure, functions, synonyms et al as well as tables and views.

Which answers your second question as well really.
