A simple way is to
  • Save Excel file in a CSV (Comma separated values) format. Open CSV file in a text editor (such as notepad) and remove everything but data you'd like to load into an Oracle table.
  • I suppose that you have already created a table; now write control file which will be used by SQL*Loader in order to successfully load records from your CSV file into the table. SQL*Loader documentation contains quite a few examples. If it is a simple CSV file, without special requirements to be met, control file is really easy to write.
  • From the operating system command prompt, run SQL*Loader. Once it is over, check the log file (to make sure that everything was loaded). Login to SQL*Plus and select records from the table (to double-check)

If you aren't sure of how to do each of these steps, I guess you'll let us know.

create the structure in the db.

If you are using TOAD..u have an option :

Database => Import => Table_Data .
Select the excel sheet..

Best way is to save it as .csv
and load using sql*loader ------> faster way

Thanks,
Raj
