Hi

After creating web lay out once going to run the report subject error pops up after open the firefox browser

According to suggested solutions for similar issue I checked the following path in the registry

HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Oracle->Toolkit->TKBrowser

There
Browser Name = Netscape
Browser Path = C:\Program Files\Netscape\Navigator 9\navigator.exe

In Forms builder I set the default path to the above and it works fine.

What could be the reason

Documentation suggests that you should delete all but "Default" from Windows registry (here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Oracle->Toolkit->TKBrowser). Did you do that, or did you enter Netscape stuff in there?

Moreover, Metalink note 419414.1 says that Mozilla Firefox can not be used with Report Builder's web layout (although it should work for Reports 11g which you, I believe, don't use).

Therefore, perhaps you should switch over to MS Internet Explorer while working with Reports.

Here do you mean to delete all parameters in the registry as follows

(Default)-
BrowserName -
BrowserPath -

Please clarify

Backup the registry first!!!

In my opinion, regarding the Metalin document, you should quit forcing use of Mozilla Firefox as it is not supported.

Furthermore, as I don't use MS Windows Vista, I can't tell how your registry looks like, but this is how it looks like on MS Windows XP, using Oracle Developer Suite 10g:

/forum/fa/7284/0/

According to the documentation, it *should* look the same on Vista too (i.e. remove all entries but "Default"). Once again: before deleting anything from registry, backup the registry!

Here's what I suppose:

A browser usually checks whether it is your default browser. If not, it offers to become one. Also, there's a checkbox which says "Don't ask me again" (or something like that).

It appears that Netscape is your default browser. Search IE's options to find out how to set it to be default.

Hi Littlefoot Thax for all suggestions Smile

I set IE as default browser. Now it's working fine.

May be other browsers not compatible

(But in Forms Builder you can set the browser with "Preference" option. But in Report builder I can't find anything like that)
