Hi

Is there any way that I can verify success of database archiving backup to tape drives from database level.

Version : Oracle 10g
OS - Sun solaris 10

Native Oracle knows nothing about any "tape" device.
If the tape management/administration software keeps information in Oracle, then you can query that information; otherwise answer is NO

you can set up alert Backup job if it finished or not !!!

If it is a RMAN backup execute the RESTORE VALIDATE command.

Examining the RMAN log file for errors would at least let you know if the tapes were written succesfully or not.

Unfortunately you would still need to execute the RESTORE VALIDATE as Michel suggested in order to actually verify the integrity of the backup.
