I have a VB utility which connects to 10g db and helps in customisation of a d2k application. It was working well, but now gives error as 'Oracle error occurred, but error message couldn't be retrived from Oracle'. I rechecked MS-ODBC for Oracle in my WinXP client but same result.
Same error in another VB utility used for importing data from Excel to Ora. Is it really anything to do with ODBC ?

Do you install Oracle client?
Does your environment variables point to the Oracle home (ORACLE_HOME, PATH)?
