Does anyone know of any scripts that can compare output files or some sql or pl/sql techniques that can be used to compare output files? I need to compare output from one day and compare to the previous day and displays the differences as "adds" or "deletes" in a new file?

I know "diff" in unix could work but looking for something in sql or pl/sql.

Thanks

Anne

I would do the comparison on the file level with a command line diff.

You could perhaps define two external tables to both files, and do a both-way "minus" or possibly "intersect" query to do it in SQL, but that would definitely be more work.

How is this an Oracle question?

I think this topic no more an Oracle one and lock it.
If you think differently you can PM me or click on "Report message to a moderator" explaining your reasons.
