hi folks,
i have a procedure which has a update query of a table contain large volume say 10 million and it will take around 10 hours , but the problem is that when i run the sp it got the session time out error after six or seven hours becsuse of that whole sp fails how to retifi it how to extend the session timeout time

There is no Oracle session time-out.
However it is possible to limit the duration of a session or a call using PROFILE. Check your profile.

ALWAYS post the full and exact error message.

hi Michle ,
Thanks for your reply , but let me know how can i slove the session timeout problem while running a query , i use the sql plus only for the process.

Without this I can't even know from what the error comes from and so how to solve it.

Post exactly what you get while running the query. If not DO the above mentioned by michel.
