If you don't have SQL*Loader, then you don't have Oracle, since that is included with Oracle.

I do NOT believe you!

sqlldr <> sqlloader

Direct your questions to your DBA.
sqlldr exists on which ever system where Oracle RDBMS runs

Excel can talk directly to Oracle RDBMS via its builtin ODBC interface.

Makes no sense. The mid-tier of the OAS has an Oracle RDBMS, hence sqlldr would exist. However, I can see where a DBA does not want anyone loading data via the App Server and may have removed it.
Why would you want to load data anyway from the OAS? You do it from the client, or directly from the server.

Or Heterogeneous Services The examples given use Access, but the same method will let you access data in a spreadsheet if you make an ODBC connection to it.

i loaded the data using import utility in TOAD. i was asking for this kind of answer which doesnt have to do anything with SQLLOADER.

in TOAD, go to database menu, there we see import table data, then give schema name, table name, then click next and give excel filename.

thanks
