I want to get the dependency Chain for particular package.

I am using following query to achieve this.

FROM all_dependencies
START WITH referenced_name = 'SOME_PACKAGE_NAME'
CONNECT BY PRIOR NAME = referenced_name

I am getting ORA-01436 Connect By Loop in User Data. Also I am getting some duplicate records.

I am trying hard to get around this issue.Any help in this regard much appreciated.

Nothing can be done, there is a loop in the dependencies you have to either upgrade or create your PL/SQL program.

in 10g, try NOCYCLE.

select level, name, referenced_name, CONNECT_BY_ISCYCLE
from all_dependencies
start with referenced_name = 'STANDARD'
connect by NOCYCLE prior name = referenced_name
