Hopefully, someone can help me with this. The problem actually appears to be with the test module rather than with the install. I don't have root access on this box and the system managers will not install perl modules unless they get them from a company that's big enough to sue. CPAN doesn't qualify. So, I'm trying to put the DBI module and the DBD module into a personal library. The DBI install went well. I had to define PERL5LIB for the DBD to use my installed DBI module. That appeared to work fine. However, when it gets to the test part of the DBD 1.23 install. I get the error:
