hi gurus
What do oracle mean by the term RESTRICTED-USE LICENSING I need to find out
licensing information for Oracle Application Server 10g. The components I
need to use is oracle internet directory for the purpose of managing users
and groups. The extract below is from oracle documentation on licensing oracle application server 10g by I find it difficult to make a sense out of it
. Pls read and clarify
Restricted-Use Licensing
The following restricted-use licenses are included with Oracle Application
Server 10g in the editions indicated:
Standard Edition or Standard Edition One
Oracle Internet Directory is provided for use with Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On and with other application server components to provision, store,
and manage users and groups, their associated security credentials and privileges;
to synchronize data with 3rd party directory services; and to store othercomponent-specific metadata.
Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On can be used to provide authentication
services to applications that are deployed on Oracle Application Server.
Oracle Application Server Web Cache is provided only for use with Oracle Application Server Portal.
The Oracle Database (Standard Edition or Standard Edition One) is provided only for use with the Oracle Application Server Metadata Repository for storing product metadata.
