Dear All,

Our database server has been crashed.
We cannot login to the OS or the database .

We did recover all the data from the hard disk.
Now what we have is all the installed files of the database and the table spaces.
We do not have a dump of the database.

Is there any way that we can clone this database in another server?
Its bit urgent!!
Please help me.

Thanks and Regards,
Sasi.

Tablespaces are logical. You cannot "see it" unless you are logged into the database.
>>We did recover all the data from the hard disk.
If that holds true and Oracle is happy about it,
You can just mount the database and open it, provided all the files are in same directory structure.

Dear Mahesh,

Thanks for your reply.

Now we are installing a database in a new server and we need all our data in this new database.

Can you please tell me the steps to do this?

Thanks once again.

Regards,
Sasi.

Same answer. To make your process simple,
create the same directory structure.
Place the files in same directory as before.
Mount and open the database.
Again it will work if your "recovered files" are good.

The exact steps /alternative options will depend on how you answer BlackSwan's question.
