Hi All,

I was wondering if it is possible to use an "ALTER TABLE" statement to change the "ON COMMIT" clause of a "GLOBAL TEMPORARY" table? I looked through the "ALTER TABLE" docs and I didn't see anything.

I tried:

ALTER TABLE x ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS;

and it did not work, I get "ORA-01735: invalid ALTER TABLE option".

Is the only way to accomplish this to drop and recreate the table?

Thanks a lot.

It is not possible, you have to drop and recreate the table.

Darn it. I figured as much, I scoured the "ALTER TABLE" and "CREATE TABLE" manual pages and found nothing on the subject.

Thanks for the response.
