Hi all,

I have a doubt in incremental backup.

say for example i am taking a incremental backup to disk in production using

rman target /
CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK MAXPIECESIZE 2G
'Format /increment/backup;
Backup as compressed backupset database;

i know wat is incremental backup (which backup only the changed blocks in datafiles).i want to know when it is used?

Thanks in advance

It is used when you don't want to backup the whole database but only changes.
