Hi all,

What is the purpose of executing command

'Recover standby database until cancel' in standby database
during incomplete recovery.

can anybody answer this?.

michel, if you know the answer help me otherwise wait for others to answer . i post my question here only after not finding any relevant answers from google,tahiti.oracle.com ,books etc. and please dont repeat it hereafter .

If I were you and don't want to read the documentation, don't want to answer, and don't want others to point me to these lacks then I don't post as I'm pretty sure that Michel or someone else we'll repeat me that I have to follow guidelines (and don't use IM speak) and search before posting.
Now if you think you don't care about this and post anyway then you have to assume your behaviour and its consequences. But maybe you also don't want to assume them.
Anyway, you can't shut me up.
It's up to you.

'Recover standby database until cancel' is clearly explained in the documentation why should we copy and paste it here? Give me a good reason.

In the end, you posted the same question in DBA-Village where you have the courtesy to explain your question and the points you don't understand. If you made here the same things instead of just "what is the purpose of this command" you surely had a detailed answer to clear your doubts.
You got the answer as the level of your question.
