Hi ,

In 10g RAC we have Transparent Application Failover only for SELECT statements but not for DML's . Is this flaw overcome in Oracle 11g RAC.

Kindly let me know , I could not find the exact answer for this anywhere .

As far as I know, it is still not supported.
There are a few improvements in notification techniques.

Thanks , this was a clarification . I could not find info on this in OTN or the metalink. And there are good updates on the load balancing features.

My manager was arguing that TAF has been updated in 11g even for DML's . I was sure that there has been no improvement even in 11g RAC but I could not prove with any documentation on this .

Is there any valid documentation which has this. ?

Could be out of context.
He might be referring to OCI callbacks, which was available in 10g itself.
At any case, transactions are rolled back.

Right in the docs.
Raise a TAR or test yourself for Validity.
Oracle Docs is not "error free".

May be we need to accept the fact that Oracle is not error free. And sure I'll raise a TAR for this TAF for DML on 11g .

Anyhow thanks for your time .
