basically the language should come in France. but some times some characters are coming in german language.

below is nls_lang parameter set:
FRENCH_FRANCE.WE8MSWIN1252

WE8ISO8859P1 character set defined in our database.

please suggest why this type of character is coming. appreciate your valuable answer.

Thanks in Advance

As far as I know WE8MSWIN1252 handles german characters.
WE8ISO8859P1 may not.
You should upgrade you database to WE8MSWIN1252 one which can be done with a simple ALTER DATABASE command as WE8MSWIN1252 is a stric superset of WE8ISO8859P1.
Just execute csscan to verify your data.

WE8ISO8859P1 can handle German, too.

Of course one "Character" can not really be in any language.

The character "ü" for example could be German OR Turkish.

And even in a "French Language" System you should still be able to enter German names or cities.

So maybe you should post an example of what "Characters" you mean. Are you talking about Oracle messages maybe?

Are you sure that
1/ Your client program is able to display your character
2/ Your client set the correct NLS_LANG values?
