VARCHAR2 cannot take a data more than 32KB. [message #394475] Fri, 27 March 2009 05:37 Go to next message

I need to generate a ridiculously huge amount of text and display it on a web page. VARCHAR2 has a 32KB limit, and a CLOB cannot write the data to the screen when it surpasses that limit. Is there any other way to pull out that CLOB -text to display it on the screen?
Any suggestion will be appreciate.

CLOBs do not write data to the screen.
You application writes the data to the screen.

What application software are you using?

If you're oing this in Pl/Sql, you can use DBMS_LOB.SUBSTR to retrieve part of the CLOB - just loop through the clob and display each 32k chunk
