Hello David,

We had try to compile a Forms 6i it has oracle 11g database, it has a column has type with NVarchar2, it
Says Character set not supportive, for that forms level what all the set up need to do , we are looking into that.

We had set change for NLS

NLS_LANGUAGE=SIMPLIFIED CHINESE
NLS_TERRITORY=CHINA
NLS_CHARACTERSET=ZHS16GBK
NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET=USASCII7

And NLS setting in REGEDIT

SIMPLIFIED CHINISE_CHINA.ZHS16CGB231280

Also done.

Still we have challenges like

1. Compiling. If we compile with VARCHAR2, then use that same forms, then we try to use it does not identifying the old forms when we had changed into NVarchar2. If we try to COST the particular field, VARCHAR2 to NVARCAHR2 then also it's not identifying.
2. We try to insert the Chinese String from Backend with some editor, the data are getting into database, while selecting it comes as '?????????' .

What we want is any more setting need to do?

We have Chinese font installed and the Regional setting also done for Chinese. Forms we can able type in Chinese / Chinese we insert into a Text field.

Please could you suggest any thing more to do?

How do get the forms display in chinese in the RunTime.

I had tried a tool called Mulitilizer. We had done all the recommentaion from them,While runtime the Character all get offset the Fonts - It diplay as '??????????' or Character may of off.

Thanks,
Guru.

Thanks David,

No, I am not able to compile the Oracle Forms 6i with Oracle Nvarchar2 Data Type. Still we are looking for some workaround.

Right Now currently we are assigned that value as Varchar2 with UTF-8 Character Set and compiling. It's Compiling and we can able Display Oracle Forms 6i, JSP 1.2 Screens, and Crystal Reports 8.5.

Now we are try to set the Character set as UTF-8, then I have to Whole Database Migration work need to do. Is that any way we can do a column level in the Oracle 11g / 10g? Suppose Oracle 11g does support the column level. We are looking the Work around for that.

With ISO 8859-1. It was Compiling but in The JSP, encoding we have to do with Physically go and refresh the go to View then encoding select Simplified Chinese. For this encoding. Then JSP will display in Chinese

Also we are looking various approaches. Still it's not working like Encoding

1. we had given UTF-8/BSk/BS2130/WIN- etc nothing giving as encoded one. All coming as ASCII Characters.

2. We had passed the response & request parameters for Encoding still its not working.

3.We had tried the JavaScript coding for the encoding 'UTF-8' in body onload event, still we are looking various options.

4. We can assign a JSTL.

If you have any workaround please share your experience or advice us how we can go ahead.

Thanks,
Guru.
