I am working on homework for an Oracle class. I am trying to do an install and I don't understand the change file. I have an idea of what itis for, but I don't understand how it works and the softlinks. I don't normally do Oracle or Unix... Windows I am great at.

Looking for a little getting started help.

Neither do I understand your statement.
Providing a little more context would be beneficial (at least to me).

There is only one hit on "change file" in the whole Oracle documentation 10g, it is in Oracle® Application Server Web Cache Administrator's Guide:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/caching.1012/b14046/basics.htm#sthref742

Is this what you are trying to install?

Michel
