hi,
i have given query like this.

Select Problem_Desc,
Substr(Problem_Desc, 1,instr(Problem_Desc,'-',-1),
Substr(Problem_Desc, instr(Problem_Desc,'-',+1), Length(Problem_Desc))
from EMRPatientProblems

it is throwing exception like
ora 00907
Missing right parenthesis.can you give me the corrected ones?

you just modify you query add one more ')' at second selected column.
Select Problem_Desc, 
Substr(Problem_Desc, 1,instr(Problem_Desc,'-',-1)), 
Substr(Problem_Desc, instr(Problem_Desc,'-',+1), Length(Problem_Desc))
from EMRPatientProblems

Previous posts really suggest that you are not trying anything and you think that these people in forum can solve any minor issues that you have,so why to try ?? try to analyze the problem and solve yourself.

Tell frankly what have you done so far regarding this error ?? checked google atleast why is the error coming ???

You cannot depend on the forum for everything.
