There are lots of Built in packages provided by Oracle.
Can any one please let me know that where can I find the documentation
for all these packages.
For most of the built in packages, the documentation are given in
Supplied PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference guide.
For time series, calendar, spacial object, xml, reference to these packages
are in thier reference guide. But I feel still some thing are missing.
For Oracle 9i if I give
select unique(name) from user_source where type='PACKAGE'
for the sys user, its giving me 314 packages.
If I use the entreprise manager to look for these packages,
some of the packages like PRVT_EGUTL, DBMS_RMGR_GROUP_EXPORT are giving
some hexadecimal code which cannot be read.
For the packages, which can be read using the Entreprise Manager, I am able to
use them in the PLSQL Blocks. Can I use these packages, even if they are not
specified in the documentation or is it reserved for internal use i.e use by
some Oracle internal functions?
For those packages, for which the sql code in in unreadable format, is it possible
to use these packages. If so from where can we get the documentation for these
packages.
I also want to know why these packages are in unreadable format. Is they are compiled
packages?
Thanks in Advance,
VishnuVardhan.
