if i want to use my computer name "xeSvr" (machine where APex 3.1.2 and db 10g XE installed) instead of "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" --not working (page can not be displayed).
can any one help me pls why it happening and how can i run url "http://xeSvr:8080/apex" instead of "http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex" or "http://localhost:8080/apex" to open my Express application?

this is required bcz to access this application from remote computer.

i am looking forward for your kind and earliest response.

Thank you.

hi,

you need to download and install client software in the remote computer and then Xesvr will work instead of localhost .

Dear Mr dr.s.raghunathan,

Thank you for your reply. i got the solution finaly and successful now.

i did the following:

i went to my working directory then

SQL>EXECUTE DBMS_XDB.SETLISTENERLOCALACCESS(L_ACCESS=>FALSE);
PL/SQL PROCEDURE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED.

and i got my solution.

*** here extra software download and install didn't require except the above command.
