I would like to use Oracle's ldapcompare after our java timer expires in forms.

The form will ask for the user's password.

We would then take the user and the password and use oracle's ldapcompare to verify the password.

I would like to do this with the HOST built-in.

Has anyone else done this or something like it?

I've used HOST to print labels but am not sure how to capture the results from ldapcompare.

The answer here is to use the host command with the ldapcompare text as the first parameter:

HOST('$ORACLE_HOME/bin/ldapcompare <ldapcompare parms>',NO_SCREEN);

Then check the status with the following:

IF NOT FORM_SUCCESS THEN
<authentication failure logic>
ELSE
<authentication success logic>
END IF;

Piece of cake.
