I am new to schedule a job in oracle ,my question is whether we can schedule a job for a particular user which has different tablespaces given separate quota's for each

my question;
1.If the tablespace quota for a particular user has been reached to 90% the job must be scheduled

There is no dataabse event that you can use to spot when quota usage exceeds 90%.

You would need to have a scheduled job that ran every so often -
depending on how soon after exceeding the 90% level you needed for this to happen. This job would check the tablespace usage for each uer and then perform whatever action you want on uusers who have just exceeded the 90% level.

What don't you understand?
- how to check quota
- how to check percentage of quota used
- how to create a procedure to check this
- how to creat a job
- ...

Like ram anand, I too am confused on the exact sql and dba table to query for ensuring that the system has suffent space to grow. We lost our DBA to outsource efforts. Is their a generic list of process to run to determine the state of the oracle system. I hope to hire a new DBA before 2nd quarter.

Thanks in advance

Which is NOT the question asked by OP and so the answer is NOT the same one.
In addition, you have to precise what you mean with "ensuring that the system has suffent space to grow".

No, or yes this is called a DBA experience.
In addition, this is a fully different question and so deserve a new topic.
Please don't hijacl others topic with non directly related question.

Jim, I just wanted to know what this meant. Did your company outsource DBA work to a company that has no DBA or did your DBA leave to become part of an outsource company?
