Hi everybody,

Needs a bit help. Infact I wanted to know that if I have not installed advanced security options of Oracle 9i or 10g, just installed the database with default options. when a user is logging from remote system through application server or through web server. when he tries to log on during authetication , the password and username are encrpted by default or transmitted in plain text?

Passwords are always encrypted between client and server in Oracle (but for statement "alter user identified by").
