Hi
I want to create the repository in the oracle designer.can anyone please tell me the steps or guide in creating repository

Have you ever searched the Internet? There are various search engines, and Google is probably the most popular. It helps a lot while looking for information you need.

Furthermore, there's the OraFAQ Forum Guide which contains useful links; the ultimate Oracle documentation section is located at Oracle Technology Network (OTN). That's where I have found the Oracle Designer Repository Installation Guide. Believe or not, it took 4 words written in Google and 5 mouse clicks to locate this document.

Now the question is: what prevented you to do that?

I am facing the exception: you dont have select privilege on sys.v_$parameter view.
I am doing the following steps
After login I clicked repository administration utility
then , i clicked on install and then I clicked on yes option whereever i recieve dialogue box.While cliking on the start button of the install repository instance i get the exception.

please help me.

Your action: After login you clicked ...
The result: you don't have select privilege on sys.v_$parameter view.

Remedy: login using the credentials which will allow you to successfully continue installation process (i.e. log on as user which is able to view SYS.V_$PARAMETER).

Yes its done now.I logged in with the SYS user and granting the select priveilge on the sys.v_$parameter to my user.
It works.
