How to update multiple rows in a column in one query?
(i want to attach something for each existing row value and each value is different for each row)

Post a test case: create table and insert statements along with the result you want with these data.

Use SQL*Plus and copy and paste what you already tried.
Before read OraFAQ Forum Guide, especially "How to format your post?" section.
Make sure that lines of code do not exceed 80 characters when you format.
Indent the code (See SQL Formatter) and use code tags.
Use the "Preview Message" button to verify.

though your querry is not understandbale to me. i expect and it may lead to some interesting problem. As michel suggests, why don't you explain in detail or post the test case further.
