hi
we got a test network with the 2 databases on sep machines, dbserver and dbserver2,(8.1.6) running on NT, There are also 3 clients (win98,win2000,redhat linux).
Initially the network was fine but we had to move one server, the (ip address changed but the computer name, dbserver, was still same)
tried reconfiguring the listeners on the clients because they kept coming up with TNS-12224 errors but they cant find dbserver although they have no problems with the dbserver2 (the one that didnt move)
any help?
I have tried to manually changing the tns_names.ora file on one client, copying the dbserver2 settings and renaming but no use??
thanks in advance a frustrated and tortured soul
